Monday Class

Rachael has created this class for you using some gorgeous Echo Park Life Is Good papers.

Stash Needed...

Echo Park papers
White Bazzill
Border punch
Pizza box
Sticky tape
Brown Ink Pad
Flower sticker or flower punch

How To....

1. Cut out a scalloped shape approximately 8x8 and ink the edges.
2. Cut some strips of patterned paper giving them a decorative edge using a border punch, they don't all have to be the same width.
3. Turn the scalloped shape over so you are working on the reverse. The strips that you have cut are going to be used to pleat around the edges of the scalloped shape. To do this glue a small section at a time, stick one end of the strip down and pleat it around the shape frequently turning the paper over to check that you are happy with how much is showing and the shape that it is taking.
4. When you come to the end of a strip join in another one, join in the folded end of the new strip under the end of the old one and then pleat the rest as before.

5. Once you have gone all the way around your shape tape all the pleats down using sticky tape, just to make them extra secure and also to seal in any glue that wasn't covered by the pleated paper.
6. Cut up an old pizza box and add this to the centre of your paper, remember you are still working on the reverse of your paper. Now put this to one side.

7. Choose a coordinating piece of patterned paper and create a decorative edge using a border punch. Cut out an 8x8 square from the centre. (This is just to save the paper that will be covered to use another time so if you don't want to it won't matter.)

8. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 10x10, ink and distress the edges and stick this onto your patterned paper. I have machine stitched the cardstock into place but you could add hand stitching or draw on some fake stitching.

9. Now add your scalloped shape to the centre of your cardstock.

10. I chose a close up portrait photo so that I could cut away the background, I then matted it onto some pink patterned paper and inked the edges. I stuck the matted photo onto a piece of 6.5x6.5 piece of patterned paper, don't add glue right to the edges of the photo matt.

11. Cut a strip of paper approximately 3/4 inch wide, ink the edges and pleat it across the bottom of your photo and scalloped shape, you will probably need to join two strips to make it long enough.

12. I have added a flower sticker but you could just as easily add a punched flower, whatever you use adhere the centre to your page and under the petals nearest the scallop edge add a blob of pin flair gel or silicone glue to keep them raised off your page.

13. Decorate the centre of your flower and add a little journaling block, heart and title. Then using the same patterned paper as you have used to pleat across your page punch out lots of circles and add them around the edge of your photo after inking the edges.

14. Your finished!
