Romance picture frame

Here's a picture frame created by Lianne using the gorgeous new American Crafts Romance papers.

These are so easy to make, just take 2 sheets of chipboard and cut to your preferred size, cut an aperture from one of the pieces and decorate anyway you like! Stick the other piece of chipboard to the back of the frame when you've finished decorating. It's easy to add a support so it can be free-standing using a piece of chipboard- just cut a long tapered shape and score about an inch from the narrower end, then use a strong adhesive to stick the end to the back of the frame, this can then the bent along the score to provide a support for the frame.

For this frame, chipboard sheets were cut to size and the edges were painted with a Pink Sherbert Paint Dabber. A piece of American Crafts Romance First Love was cut to size and the edges were distressed using scissors and sandpaper and adhered to the frame. Some Fancy Pants Chipboard Flourishes were painted with Pink Sherbert and Espresso Paint Dabbers and the edges were sanded before using Glossy Accents to stick them to the frame. The frame was finished by cutting 2 hearts from the spare chipboard, one was covered in American Crafts Romance Unconditional Love and distressed with sandpaper and the other was treated with Crackle Glaze before being tied with parcel string and being adhered to the frame with foam pads.

My Mind's Eye - Garden Party

Have you seen these papers? They are sooooooooooo scrummy - split into two ranges, Lush Blooms and My Sunshine, they were released as a mid season release before CHA Summer this year.

I gave Cal a pack of the Lush Blooms collection and a sheet of the matching die cut Accessories sheet to have a play with and just look at what she came up with!!!!

A close up of the details on the layout above:

And another:

And then she went on to create some cards:

Aren't they fabulous??? The colours in these papers are so amazingly versatile! Seeing all of this really got my mojo flowing so I decided to have a quick play myself whilst the kiddy winkles were in bed having their afternoon nap and this is what I came up with, using the My Sunshine collection

As well as the papers, I also added some American Crafts Minimarks Everyday IM Chesnut Rub ons to the bottom right hand corner of the photo and top right above Amelia's head. The speach bubble is also from this rub on collection. I have to admit - American Crafts rub ons are my absolute favourite - so easy to apply and such excellent value for money! I also used the brown CWAE scalloped square from Bazzill as the mat for the photo - so easy to use and great for drawing around if you are a super saver & have time on your side

So, until 15 September, we are offering all of our blog readers a free sheet of die cut accessories worth £1.88 with each purchase of either set of MME Garden Party paper collections (£4.95 for 9 sheets of patterned paper - not bad!). When you get to checkout, simply type "free die cuts please" in the comments box, and these will be added to your order with our compliments.

Just buy a pack of My Mind's Eye - Garden Party Lush Blooms or a pack of My Mind's Eye - Garden Party My Sunshine by 15th September & type your comment "free die cuts please" in the box - it's that simple!

Been playing!

Been playing with the July Scrap Kit today and wow! It's sooooooooo easy to use & versatile.....gotta love Crate for that. The die cut embellishment sheet is great - the hardest decision is which embellishment to use without trying to layer them all onto the page at once. The pearls make perfect bloom centres. The GCD letter stickers are sooooooooooooo easy to use & I can't believe how many you get in the pack!
It's been a while since I created a multiple photo layout. This is a series of pics from the twins' first birthday party in June of Amelia in her new swing - it was one of those rare Summer days where we actually had some sun - remember those????
If you want to subscribe to our kits starting with the July kit, it's not too late - check out our subscription info & sign up here.
