{3 Happy Days - Days two & three}

So it seems that Blogger did not want to play along with my 3 days in a row posts, so instead you get days 2 & 3 of Echo Park's 'Happy Days' in one post.

I'll start with this page. Another huge advantage of 6x6 papers is they are great for blocking style pages, and again the miniature patterns mean you don't loose too many details by trimming a little off the edges.

For this page I arranges 4 of the Happy Days 6x6 papers roughly onto a sheet of plain white cardstock. I say roughly, because these are not perfectly straight or even, and that's just me - I cannot be doing with measuring everything out to make sure it's central etc, and I prefer the slightly haphazard look! I layered up some longer strips from the border sheet and sticker sheet across the middle of my page, and placed my backed photo over the top of it all, with a journalling spot underneath.
This photo was just perfect for the fun theme of the papers - it was taken in a traditional American diner in San Fransisco during our honeymoon there. This place was so superbly retro, with all the little touches that made you feel like you were back in the 60's - every table had a little jukebox on it!

The special brad assortment pack is one of my very favourite things from this collection. You get glazed brads in pretty patterns, brads with flowers, gem brads, pearl brads and even a brad attached to a journalling strip.

The third page I made with the Happy Days collection is this one, and I think it has quite a different feel to the other two. My final reason for loving 6x6 papers is that they are great for punching and cutting down, because you still keep the pattern - yay for miniatures!

This page was created by misting a sheet of white swiss dot cardstock with yellow, pink metallic and iridescent mists. I backed my photo and inked the edges for definition. I usually go straight for my brown ink pads when I'm inking up edges, but this time I went for a pink metallic one and I love the more subtle results, so I'll definitely be utilising my stash of coloured ink pads more!

I punched several circles, hearts and butterflies, and layered them all up with some stickers from the sticker sheet, some cut out words from the journalling sheet and some pearls. I added some lettering directly to the photo - this page documents week 25 of my pregnancy and all the things that went on this week. It's a bit of an excuse to use girly papers, because at the time I didn't know if I was having a girl or boy! Finally I added my journalling straight onto the cardstock - it's lovely to look back on. I wrote journalling every week whilst I was pregnant and although not a huge amount of it is scrapped yet, it all sits in my pregnancy journal so can easily be transferred to a page. I'm so glad I did this as I would never remember all the little details otherwise.
I hope you've enjoyed my Happy Days pages, thanks for dropping by!
