In Vogue with Pink Paislee's - Vintage Vogue

Hi all :) Gems here.

This month I got to play with the gorgeous Pink Paislee - Vintage Vogue. The girly tones are perfect for scrapping photos of my daughter and I got to work straight away on the first of my layouts....

Ashton is an avid reader and can often be found with her nose inside a book. One afternoon I popped into the kitchen and found her reading the Secret Garden and decided to snap some photos to record her love of reading.

Purple is a colour I usually avoid in scrapbooking as I find it difficult to work with, but I challenged myself to create a layout using purple as one of the main colours, and I absolutely loved the challenge I set myself, and I am happy with the results.

My second layout I created using the range was....

Ashton was a flowergirl for my Brother-in-law's wedding back in July and I thought these pretty, feminine papers were perfect for photos taken on the day.

I will be back tomorrow with a couple of cards I created using the same range and a gorgeous, extremely versatile product I adored using!

Below are the products I used.......(Simply click on the picture to take you to the product in the shop)

~*Lazy Sunny Days *~

Hi all, Gems here. This month I got to to work with the gorgeous Sassafras – Sunshine Broadcast range. The colours and patterns are so pretty I couldn’t wait to cut into them and get creating.

One thing I always admire on other people's scrapbook pages is the look of handcut patterns from patterned papers, however, I rarely have the time (and patience if I am honest!) to sit and intricately cut out complex  flowers etc. from sheets of paper. So Sassafras ‘Foldies’ provide the perfect product to imitate the look of handcut without the work.

The ‘Foldies’ come as a 12x12 sheet, and have numerous designs of different shapes and sizes.

The flowers are die-cut and you simply pop them out from their 12x12 sheet, fold them where specified and voila, you have perfect flower embellishments in seconds!

I created the following layouts all using Sassafras - Sunshine Broadcast patterned papers, sweet treats stickers and journaling stickers along with the ‘Foldies’ to embellish my layouts.

[Beautiful Innocence]

For this layout I wanted the focus to remain on the photo of my daughter, so I kept the design pretty simple. I simply mounted my photo on a piece of the 'Kindle' paper which I then stuck onto my background paper, 'Static'. I then used the Foldies along the left hand side of my photo which I finished with some pretty self-adhesive pearls in lemonade.

[Sweet and Lovely]

This layout of my girly playing with some bubbles in the sunshine seemed to suit these papers perfectly. Instead of using an alphabet to create my title, I simply used one of the Sweet Treats stickers.

[First and Last Day of Reception]

For this layout I used the gorgeous 'Golden Hour' patterned paper as my background. I then mounted my photographs onto a strip of 'Beaming' and one of the co-ordinating journaling tags.
I then added one of the strips from the shaped bottoms of the patterned papers, and also added the alphabet strip from the 'Golden Hour' paper. I used Adornit Tiny Alphas for the first half of my title and Sassafras alpha for the rest. I embellished the layout using the Sweet Treats stickers and Foldies.

So go and check out the gorgeous Sunshine Broadcast range by Sassafras and the extremely useable 'Foldies' which have just been restocked! Thanks for stopping by :) Love Gems xoxo

~*Glitz Design - Afternoon Muse*~

Following on from my previous post, here are my final two layouts using the gorgeous Glitz Design – Afternoon Muse collection.

First up is ‘Almost Five’.

I loved the bunting on the patterned paper, ‘Banner’. I simply created the majority of my layout on the bottom left hand side of the patterned paper to allow the beautiful bunting to be seen. I cut the ‘Block’ patterned paper and layered a strip of ‘Stripe’ (which I edged with an edge punch), and ‘Banner’ (also scalloped using an edge punch) and attached my photos. I embellished using some of the excellent value for money buttons (in the Sherbert Fizz colourway), some pretty Aunty Sarah’s bloomers and a few pearls to add a little sparkle.

My final layout is ‘May Angels Lead you in’.

Last Wednesday David and I went to see one of my favourite bands, Jimmy Eat World in Cardiff and we were treated to an absolutely amazing gig and I couldn’t wait to get home and scrap my photos.

For this layout, I created some little, extremely easy flowers. They are simply made from four little strips of paper layered over each other with a button centre. I think they are quite effective as a little embellishment created using co-ordinated patterned papers guaranteed to match your layout J I also used some guitar picks which I bought at the merchandise stand at the gig.

Thanks for stopping by the blog! Gems xx

Let the Good Times Roll...

Hi all, Gems here on my first blog post :) This month for my blog work I got to play with the gorgeous Glitz Designs – Afternoon Muse collection. I love the muted tones and generic patterns which proved to be perfect for a whole variety of types of layout.

Here is a page I created documenting mine and David’s first Zorbing experience!

[Let the Good Times Roll] (Click on the photo to view it larger)

I used the following products:

Pearls in Lemonade and Water Blue

The layout itself was very simple to put together and doesn’t take very much explaining.
Firstly, I edited, resized and printed my photos in Photoshop then simply cut the patterned papers into layers I was happy with and got to embellishing the page. I cut the journaling sticker in a way so that the journaling block was visible both above and below the photo.
I typed my journaling onto a Word document, printed and cut into strips.
The Maya Road ribbon adds dimension to the page, as do the flowers I simply finished off with a button centre. The stars are stickers from the Jillibean Soup Alphabet sheet.

Thanks for popping by, and I will be back tomorrow to share two more pages I created using the beautiful Glitz Design xx
